Metyis is growing! We are looking for a Mobile Android Engineer with 3+years of experience for a full-time position, to join our Technology team at our Digital Campus in Porto.

What you will do

  • Build and maintain Android features using Kotlin, Jetpack libraries, and Android best practices

  • Collaborate closely with designers, product managers, and backend developers to implement new features

  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to the overall quality of the codebase

  • Write unit tests (JUnit, Mockito) and support automated test coverage

  • Work with REST APIs to fetch and handle data effectively

  • Follow design guidelines and contribute to building accessible, user-friendly interfaces

  • Engage in Agile ceremonies (daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, retrospectives)

  • Support the integration of build and release pipelines using tools like Gradle and Azure DevOps

What you´ll bring

  • 3–5 years of Android development experience

  • Proficient in Kotlin, with a good understanding of the Android SDK and app lifecycle

  • Familiar with architecture patterns like MVVM, and tools like ViewModel, LiveData, or Coroutines

  • Experience consuming APIs and working with local persistence mechanisms (e.g., SharedPreferences)

  • Familiarity with Git, code reviews, and team collaboration workflows

  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

  • Good communication skills and eagerness to learn and grow
